The Role
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager based in Atlantic Canada to lead residential construction projects from inception through completion. This is a hybrid position primarily based from a home office with regular on-site presence as project phases require. You will manage scheduling, budgets, subtrades, in-house crews, and client relationships, while reporting directly to senior leadership. Site Foremen will work in tandem with this Project Manager.
This is a hands-on PM role. You'll be expected to own the full project lifecycle, coordinate across multiple stakeholders, and keep your projects moving. If you thrive in a high-autonomy environment with real accountability, this is the role for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee modular residential construction projects from pre-construction and planning through substantial completion and deficiency close-out.
- Work in collaboration with Site Foremen managing in-house trades crews, and subcontractors across active project sites.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, look-ahead plans, and budgets; proactively identify and communicate risks to senior leadership.
- Procure, schedule, and manage subtrades, suppliers, equipment and materials; negotiate contracts and manage change orders.
- Coordinate all site activities including, module delivery and setting, mechanical/electrical connections, and interior/exterior finishes.
- Serve as one of the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle; manage expectations and maintain strong relationships.
- Lead site meetings and maintain clear, consistent communication with ownership, trades, consultants, and community stakeholders including First Nations leadership and housing coordinators.
- Ensure all work meets safety standards, code compliance, and Arcwell's quality benchmarks.
- Report progress, budget status, and risk updates to senior leadership on a regular cadence.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Construction Project Manager, Site Superintendent, or equivalent with demonstrated experience managing single-family home subdivision projects.
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects including full budget ownership, scheduling, and change management.
- Experience directly managing trades crews and site foremen in a field environment.
- Strong working knowledge of construction sequencing, drawings, and trade coordination.
- Proficiency with construction management software and digital tools (MS Office, project scheduling platforms).
- Demonstrated cultural awareness and respect when working with First Nations or Indigenous communities; direct experience is a strong asset.
- Valid driver's license; ability to travel to project sites across Canada as required.
