Herzig Eye Institute is a state‑of‑the‑art ophthalmic surgical centre specializing in cataract and refractive procedures. We are seeking an experienced, patient‑focused Ophthalmic Technician to join our clinical team and support a high‑volume, technology‑driven practice.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering an exceptional patient experience—from the first point of contact through surgery and post‑operative care—while supporting advanced diagnostic testing and surgical workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform advanced diagnostic testing within the Refractive division
- Support refractive and cataract consultations through ophthalmic assisting
- Function confidently in all roles within the laser suite (excimer and femtosecond), including:
- Patient preparation
- Laser calibration
- Direct surgical assistance
- Ensure accuracy, organization, and proper inventory management of ophthalmic supplies
- Deliver a consistently high level of patient care, communication, and service in a fast‑paced clinical environment
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong commitment to patient experience and customer service excellence
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to multi‑task and adapt in a high‑volume clinical setting
- Previous experience in an ophthalmic or medical practice preferred
- COA, COT, or COMT certification preferred
- Experience with advanced diagnostics and refractive care workflows is an asset
