Alpha Adroit is seeking competent CCIL Certified Technicians, Technologists, CETs, or E.I.T.s for conducting the type of materials testing services we provide. The successful candidate will be engaged in:

Concrete testing and aggregate testing according to CSA and ASTM standards

Conducting field density testing on aggregates, soils, asphalt, and other road construction materials using a nuclear density gauge

Field and lab testing for concrete materials
-
Testing different road construction materials in the laboratory
-
Training seasonal staff, preparing test reports, and maintaining electronic test records and databases

Performing administrative functions and ensuring smooth operations
-
Conducting job site hazard assessments and following and implementing safety procedures and instruction
- Performing OHS duties or acting as OHS Safety officer when needed
Qualifications
The following qualifications are required (or are considered an asset when not a requirement):

Certified CCIL concrete tester and aggregate tester

Minimum two (2) year of field and laboratory testing experience. Lab management experience is considered a valuable asset.

Knowledge of appropriate testing standards, specifications, Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S)

Minimum 3 years of driving experience in Canada (otherwise have your own suitable 4WD truck with commercial insurance)

Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's license

Ability to perform substantial physical effort, including work under variable or harsh environmental conditions, standing for extended periods, and lifting up to 50 pounds (lbs.)

Strong communication skill (both verbal and written), ability to interpret contract documents, drawings, and specifications according to the City of Edmonton Roadways Construction Standards (knowledge of the City of Calgary Standards is considered an asset)

Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google applications and software

Owning a truck and using it for work is not a requirement but is considered an asset (we pay standard rate mileage).

In the first line of your resume and cover letter, please indicate if you are registered with the Canadian Council of Independent Laboratories (CCIL) as a certified concrete tester or aggregate tester or if you have ever been (for field and lab testing).

In the second line of your resume and cover letter, please indicate if you are registered or are eligible to be designated as C.E.T. with the Association of Science & Engineering Technology Professionals of Alberta (ASET), as well as, the number of your years of experience in soil compaction testing, concrete testing, and aggregate testing. CET is not mandatory but is considered as an asset.
