DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Check and balance daily postings and run the "night audit".
- Process wake up calls
- Filing forms and other paperwork
- Work in a computerized environment.
- Take, cancel and change room reservations.
- Register arriving guests, assign rooms, and check-out guests.
- Process group arrivals and departures.
- Process guest departures and payments.
- Post charges and payments to guest rooms and meeting rooms.
- Balance cash float and daily cashier reports.
- Handle a multi-line switchboard.
- Arrange services for guests with special needs.
- Provide information to guests about hotel facilities, services, and points of interest in the area.
- Store and retrieve guest luggage.
- Investigate and resolve guest complaints efficiently.
- Monitor occupancy statistics.
- Follow emergency and safety procedures.
EDUCATION, SKILLS and EXPERIENCE
- Post-secondary education is preferred but not required.
- Hospitality industry experience preferred
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Positive friendly attitude.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Guest service oriented.
- Professional appearance and excellent grooming.
- Skilled in multitasking and time management.
- Team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to exercise good judgment.
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
- Reading, writing and speaking English.
- French speaking a definite asset.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORKING CONDITIONS
Require multiple hours of standing in front of a computer as well as physical patrols of the premise. There is also the physical demand of assisting guests with their luggage.
