Reporting to the Vice President, Architecture, the Architect will lead architectural design and project delivery across a diverse portfolio of new construction, renovations, and facility upgrades. This role offers the opportunity to manage projects from early planning and conceptual design through construction administration while collaborating closely with EastPoint’s fully integrated in-house architecture and engineering teams. The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with excellent client relationship skills and a passion for delivering thoughtful, high-quality design solutions.
What You’ll Be Doing:
In this role, you will lead architectural design and project delivery while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver successful outcomes from concept through project completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead architectural planning, design, and technical delivery for new construction, additions, renovations, and facility improvement projects.
- Develop building concepts, layouts, design documentation, specifications, and construction drawings.
- Manage projects through programming, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, tendering, construction administration, and warranty phases.
- Coordinate with EastPoint’s in-house engineering disciplines, external consultants, contractors, and client stakeholders throughout project execution.
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams while ensuring projects remain on schedule and within budget.
- Provide technical oversight and quality control to ensure designs meet applicable codes, standards, and client expectations.
- Identify and proactively manage project risks while supporting successful project delivery.
- Participate in proposal development, client presentations, and business development initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships while serving as a trusted advisor throughout the project lifecycle.
- Contribute to a collaborative team culture focused on technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate is a technically strong and client-focused Architect who enjoys leading projects, collaborating across disciplines, and delivering innovative building solutions. This individual brings sound technical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to successfully balance design excellence, project delivery, and client expectations.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Master’s degree in architecture from an accredited institution.
- Registered Architect with the Nova Scotia Association of Architects (NSAA), or eligibility to become registered.
- Minimum of five years of architectural consulting experience.
- Strong knowledge of the National Building Code of Canada and applicable industry standards.
- Experience leading projects through conceptual design, construction documentation, tendering, and construction administration.
- Strong understanding of building planning, detailing, accessibility, building systems coordination, and construction practices.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary project teams while managing schedules, budgets, and technical deliverables.
- Excellent client relationship, communication, and presentation skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with sound professional judgment and risk management capabilities.
- Experience contributing to proposals, business development, and marketing initiatives is considered an asset.
