ROLE SUMMARY
Reporting to the National Sales Director, the Outside Sales representative is responsible for the promotion and specification products and systems to clients within the assigned territory. Also responsible for maintaining existing clients and the development of new clients for growth in the assigned territory. The prime market areas include retail stores, commercial, and residential clients. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated professional with strong relationship building skills, a passion for customer service, and the ability to identify new business opportunities while maintaining existing accounts.
TASKS AND RESPONSABILITIES
· Develop and execute a territory sales plan to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with retail stores, contractors, builders, distributors, architects and key decision makers.
· Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand market share.
· Conduct regular customer visits, jobsite meetings, and product demonstrations.
· Provide technical product support and recommendations to customers.
· Collaborate with inside sales, operations, and manufacturing to ensure excellent customer service.
· Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments.
· Prepare sales forecasts, account plans, and monthly activity reports.
· Negotiate pricing and contracts within established company guidelines.
· Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.
· Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and networking functions.
· Ensure compliance with company policies, safety requirements, and ethical business practises.
· May require additional functions as required by the National Sales Director.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
· Post secondary education in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and relevant sales experience will be considered.
Knowledge and Competences
· Minimum of 5 years sales experience, preferably in construction materials, building products, or industrial distribution.
· Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
· Strong understanding of the construction industry and contractor sales process.
· Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship building skills
· Ability to work independently and manage a large geographical territory
· Strong organizational and time management skills
· Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft office applications
· Valid drivers licence, Canadian passport, and clean drivers abstract.

WORK CONDITIONS
· The Outside Sales representative can expect some after hours meetings and weekend activities as required to accomplish is duties.
· Daily work schedule can vary depending on circumstance.
· The Outside Sales representative can expect to travel to outside areas of the local market within their territory or region and potentially in the United States as required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
· Ability to travel extensively throughout the assigned territory, including frequent driving and overnight stays.
· Ability to walk construction sites, warehouses, manufacturing facilities, and customer locations safely and confidently.
· Required to lift and carry product samples, marketing materials, and displays weighing up to 25 LBS
