Rubber Paving Mixer / Installation Technician
Donnelly Developments Inc. is looking for a reliable, motivated, and detail-oriented Rubber Paving Mixer / Installation Technician to join our growing team. This position plays a critical role in producing high-quality poured-in-place rubber safety surfacing for playgrounds, splash parks, walkways, recreation facilities, and commercial projects throughout Alberta and Western Canada.
The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately mixing rubber materials, maintaining quality control, supporting installation crews, and ensuring every project meets our high standards for safety and workmanship. Key Responsibilities
- Measure, mix, and prepare rubber granules, polyurethane binders, and pigments according to manufacturer specifications.
- Operate rubber mixing equipment safely and efficiently while maintaining production schedules.
- Ensure every batch is mixed consistently to meet quality and performance standards.
- Deliver mixed material to installation crews in a timely manner to maintain workflow.
- Monitor weather conditions, material temperatures, and curing times to ensure proper installation.
- Assist with the installation and finishing of poured-in-place rubber safety surfacing.
- Load and unload trucks with materials, equipment, and tools.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including cleaning mixers and equipment at the end of each shift.
- Perform daily inspections and basic maintenance on mixing equipment and company tools.
- Follow all company safety policies, manufacturer installation procedures, and job site requirements.
- Assist with site preparation, masking, grading, and final cleanup as required.
- Travel to job sites throughout Alberta and Western Canada, including occasional overnight stays.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in construction, concrete, asphalt, flooring, landscaping, paving, or manufacturing is considered an asset but is not required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to follow precise mixing procedures.
- Ability to work efficiently in a physically demanding outdoor environment.
- Comfortable lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and time-management skills.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with a clean driver's abstract is preferred.
- Forklift, skid steer, or other equipment experience is considered an asset.
- First Aid, CSTS, WHMIS, or other construction safety certifications are an asset.
