Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Trailer Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience with various types of equipment, including trailers, heavy machinery, and industrial systems. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where technical expertise and customer service skills are highly valued. Candidates with dealership experience, or familiarity with excavators, cranes, Caterpillar equipment, forklifts, farm machinery, HVAC systems, welding, and electrical systems will be preferred. The Trailer Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining trailers and related equipment to ensure safety and optimal performance.
Duties
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on trailers and heavy equipment using hand tools, power tools, and schematics.
- Diagnose mechanical issues related to automotive repair, electrical systems, hydraulic components, and industrial equipment.
- Repair or replace damaged parts such as axles, brakes, suspensions, lighting systems, and structural components.
- Operate heavy machinery including forklifts, excavators, cranes, and other industrial equipment as needed for repairs or maintenance tasks.
- Use welding techniques to repair structural damage or fabricate parts when necessary.
- Read and interpret schematics to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems accurately.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs performed and parts used for each job.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and industry regulations.
- Assist in assembly or disassembly of trailers or equipment during repairs or upgrades.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair status clearly and professionally.
Qualifications
- Proven mechanic experience with trailers or heavy equipment is required; dealership experience is a plus.
- Strong mechanical knowledge across various systems including electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and structural components.
- Experience operating industrial equipment such as forklifts, excavators, cranes, or similar machinery.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics reading.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently throughout the workday.
- Knowledge of automotive repair techniques along with general maintenance practices.
- Familiarity with farm machinery or HVAC systems is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnostics and repairs.

Pay: $28.00-$33.00 per hour
