Position Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Mining Engineer to serve as Application Engineer to combine mining expertise with a customer-first approach to support the deployment, training, and ongoing use of our client’s simulation software. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will partner with clients to optimize their mining operations using our tools, ensuring their success and satisfaction. This includes assisting with deployment planning, troubleshooting, training, and providing ongoing technical support. Your efforts will directly contribute to our customer’s success and satisfaction.
This key role within our client’s Application Solution team has direct impact on the company’s strategic goals and success. The role will be focused on supporting their growing number of customers and projects focused primarily on the mining industry.
Responsibilities:
Our client’s Application Solutions team are core to the successful deployment of their product. The team and the role serves as the primary point of contact for their clients, building strong relationships to understand their needs and objectives and define how their products can be deployed to address those customer challenges. From those engagements the Application Engineer will collaborate with stakeholders to define deployment goals and ensure alignment with operational requirements. The individual must have the competence and drive to work directly with the customers on projects and onboarding them to drive rapid and ongoing value generation.
The role will require focus on the following core areas:
Deployment and Support:
- Deliver Software with a Service (SwaS) model – address software capability gaps with specific services (e.g. Initial baseline configuration, periodic baseline refresh, reporting and visualization)

Identify data requirements, work with Stream data scientists to analyze customer data and compile model inputs.

Work with the clients, help build or configure simulation models.

Design simulation experiments to address customer requirements and translate results and insight into actionable information.

Implementation and validation services.
Subject Matter Expertise:
- Leverage your mining knowledge to align simulation solutions with industry-specific challenges and operational workflows.

Offer insights and recommendations to maximize the value of the software for clients’ unique contexts.
Continuous Improvement:
- Gather client feedback and insights to inform product enhancements and new feature development.

Proactively monitor client progress, identifying opportunities for additional support or solution optimization.

Develop and continuously improve Application Solutions processes and documentation with objective to improve repeatability, scalability, efficiency, cost predictability.

Work closely with Customer Support, Product and Sales & Marketing team to continuously improve end-to-end Customer experience and success.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering or a related field.

Understanding of mine production equipment, including typical operating performance and cost metrics.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex operational data sets such as fleet management or fleet maintenance data.

Familiarity with mine planning processes and software.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.

Five years experience in the mining industry or related field is preferred.
