Scholars of Ajax is seeking a passionate and dedicated Part-Time Teacher/Tutor to join our team!

Qualifications:
- Must be currently enrolled in a university program or have graduated from university
- Ontario Certified Teachers (OCT) and candidates currently enrolled in Teachers College are welcome to apply
- High school students are not eligible for this position
- Must have previous teaching or tutoring experience
- Must be able to teach elementary-level math, reading, and writing, including phonics and foundational literacy skills
- Must be able to clearly explain concepts to students in a way they can understand, rather than simply knowing the material themselves
- Excellent English oral and written communication skills
- A genuine passion for helping students reach their full potential
- Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail
- Ability to effectively teach and manage small groups of up to 3 students
Availability:
- Candidates must be available to work a minimum of three shifts per week during our hours of operation:
- Monday–Thursday: 3:00 PM–8:00 PM
- Saturday: 9:00 AM–2:00 PM
Responsibilities:
- Provide engaging, individualized instruction based on each student’s needs and learning goals
- Teach elementary-level math, reading, writing, phonics, and foundational literacy skills
- Foster a positive, encouraging learning environment that builds student confidence
- Work effectively with small groups of up to 3 students at varying academic levels
- Assess student understanding and provide feedback to support continued growth
- Organize and utilize classroom materials and resources to enhance learning
- Collaborate with the Scholars team to provide personalized support for students with diverse learning needs
- Maintain accurate notes regarding student progress, areas of difficulty, and concepts covered
