Veterinary Receptionist
Prince Charles Animal Hospital | Welland, ON | Full-Time (40 hours/week)
Compensation: $18–$25/hour, negotiable based on experience

Families have brought their pets through our doors — puppies who became seniors, kittens who grew up alongside the kids, and rescues who found their forever vets here. Our team has been together a long time, our clients are loyal, and our reputation is something we've earned one appointment at a time. We're looking for a warm, organized receptionist to join us and help carry that tradition forward.
The Role
As our Veterinary Receptionist, you're the first person clients (and their pets) see when they walk through our doors — and the calm voice on the phone when they're worried about a sick pup at 8 a.m. You'll keep our front desk running smoothly, support our veterinary team, and help make every visit a positive one.
What You'll Do
- Greet clients and their pets warmly, both in person and over the phone
- Schedule appointments, surgeries, and follow-ups in AVImark
- Check clients in and out, process payments, and manage invoices
- Answer questions about services, products, and basic pet care
- Triage incoming calls and recognize urgent situations that need immediate attention
- Maintain accurate patient records and keep AVImark files up to date
- Keep the reception area clean, organized, and welcoming
- Coordinate with technicians and veterinarians to keep the day flowing
- Handle prescription refill requests and reminders
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Strong customer service skills and a genuine love for animals and the people who love them
- Excellent communication skills
- Comfortable using computers and learning new software
- Ability to stay calm and kind under pressure
- Reliable, punctual, and a true team player
Nice to have:
- Previous experience in a veterinary clinic, animal shelter, or medical office
- Hands-on experience with AVImark
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology
- Bilingual (English/French) is an asset
Schedule
[Monday–Friday, with rotating Saturdays] | 40 hours/week
