Position Overview
World Meats is seeking a reliable and hardworking Grinding Associate to support daily grinding operations, including the production of ground beef, burgers, sausage, and dog food products. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and committed to maintaining high standards of quality, food safety, and cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce burgers, ground beef, sausage, and dog food products according to company standards and recipes.
- Operate grinding equipment safely and efficiently.
- Select and install the appropriate grinding plate to achieve the required particle size.
- Load meat into the grinder and position collection bins or trucks under the discharge spout.
- Prepare meat products according to recipes, ensuring accurate seasoning, texture, and consistency.
- Measure and mix spices and seasonings as directed.
- Portion, weigh, label, and package products for distribution.
- Complete required production paperwork, including batch records and production logs.
- Maintain product quality while meeting daily production targets.
- Follow all food safety, HACCP, sanitation, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Clean and sanitize equipment, tools, and work areas after each production run.
- Select and weigh meat from the cooler for grinding as required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Assist with other production duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a food production or meat processing environment is preferred.
- Experience with meat grinding or sausage production is considered an asset.
- Ability to follow recipes, production procedures, and food safety guidelines.
- Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and HACCP is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and move up to 70 lbs.
- Ability to stand, bend, lift, and carry items throughout an 8-hour or longer shift.
- Comfortable working in a refrigerated and freezer environment (-10°C to +4°C).
- Good hand-eye coordination and the ability to perform repetitive tasks.
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining accuracy.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $18.00-$19.00 per hour
