Xactimate Specialist / Senior Estimate Writer

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Xactimate Specialist / Senior Estimate Writer to support our growing restoration operations across Markham, Toronto North, and Muskoka.
This role is highly focused on estimate writing and file progression — not field estimating. The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for producing accurate, defensible restoration estimates, managing revisions, and supporting smooth claim progression with insurance carriers.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Writing detailed mitigation and rebuild estimates in Xactimate
- Building accurate, carrier-defensible scopes of work
- Reviewing documentation, photos, sketches, and supporting file information to produce complete estimates
- Managing estimate revisions, supplements, and change requests from insurance carriers
- Responding to adjuster feedback and ensuring estimate accuracy and compliance
- Collaborating with Project Managers, Operations, and field teams to clarify scope details
- Ensuring estimates are completed accurately and in a timely manner to support file progression
- Supporting estimate quality and consistency across three restoration locations
What We’re Looking For
Must-Have Experience:
- Strong experience writing restoration estimates in Xactimate
- Extensive knowledge of Xactimate line item writing and estimating best practices
- Understanding of mitigation, contents, and reconstruction scopes
- Experience handling carrier revisions, supplements, and estimate negotiations
- Strong understanding of restoration workflows and insurance claims environments
- High attention to detail and ability to work through volume efficiently
Preferred Qualifications:
- Xactimate Level 1, 2, or 3 certification/training
- Previous experience in property restoration / insurance restoration
- Familiarity with water, fire, mold, and reconstruction estimating
- Experience with carrier guidelines and estimate compliance expectations
- Experience working with platforms such as XactAnalysis, Encircle, or similar systems
