The Embroidery Company is an award-winning, wholesale custom embroidery and garment decoration company seeking a Shipper/Receiver to join our dynamic team.
Position Overview/Responsibilities:
Overview
The primary focus will be on ensuring accurate receiving and check-in of product and the accurate shipping of outgoing decorated product, supporting the smooth functioning of our small warehouse area.
This position also entails staging of orders and liaison with our production team.
The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, is detail-oriented and has a commitment to accuracy and efficiency.
Assets: mechanical aptitude, customer services skills, creative abilities, knowledge of artwork programs, desire to learn our industry. This position can lead to potential growth within the company.
Responsibilities
- Greet and help clients with pick ups and drop offs.
- Learn company processes and department routines.
- Receive and verify/check-in incoming product according to client Purchase Order and according to company processes.
- Communicate with clients to sort out any discrepancies.
- Shipping of product ensuring to meet client in-hand dates.
- Perform basic math calculations for product verification.
- Communicate with clients advising of orders ready.
- Contact and booking of shipments with local and national couriers.
- Communicate and liaise with Production Dept.
- Pull and stage product requested by Order Processing Team that are due for production.
- Operate semi-electric lift and hand jack to move products from warehouse area to staging in the production area.
- Maintain an organized workspace to facilitate efficient shipping and receiving operations.
- Collaborate with team members to streamline warehouse processes.
- Willingness to learn production area routines.
Skills / Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years experience in a warehouse setting.
- Strong customer service experience in a warehouse setting.
- Strong basic math skills for accurate checking-in and checking-out of product.
- Foster positive and supportive relationships with clients and team members.
- Ability to work with time sensitive orders, prioritize tasks ensuring to meet client in-hand dates.
- Strong communication and organization skills and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to efficiently and safely operate semi-electric forklift and hand jack.
- Experience with shipping and receiving protocols.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Industry-related knowledge or skills a definite asset.
