Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Framer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for constructing the framework of buildings, ensuring structural integrity, and working closely with other trades to deliver high-quality projects. This role requires proficiency in various carpentry techniques, blueprint reading, and the use of hand and power tools. A strong understanding of construction safety standards and the ability to perform heavy lifting are essential. The position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, including new builds, restorations, and siding installations, contributing significantly to the successful completion of each project.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to accurately execute framing tasks.
- Construct wall frames, floors, roofs, and other structural components using wood, steel, or concrete forms.
- Operate heavy equipment and power tools safely and efficiently to cut, shape, and assemble framing materials.
- Perform concrete forming and finishing as needed for foundation or structural elements.
- Install siding and perform restoration work on existing structures when required.
- Utilize hand tools such as hammers, saws, levels, and measuring devices to ensure precise work.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other tradespeople to meet project specifications and deadlines.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and properly handling hazardous materials.
- Assist in welding or other specialized tasks when necessary for structural support or repairs.
- Engage in heavy lifting of materials and equipment to facilitate efficient workflow on-site.
Skills
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and understanding schematics for accurate framing execution.
- Experience with concrete forming, finishing, and restoration projects.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment operation relevant to framing tasks.
- Knowledge of carpentry principles including woodworking techniques and structural assembly.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining proper ergonomics.
- Familiarity with construction safety standards and protocols.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced construction environment.
