Job Summary:
Triton Automotive and Industrial is a growing, locally owned supplier who considers customer service as the top priority. We are looking to hire an experienced Steel Yard Manager.

Job description:
· Overseeing steel yard team of 3-4 people.
·Ensuring trucks are loaded and unloaded in a timely and safe manner.
· Assigning picks to yard team members and following up to ensure job completion and quality.
. Will need to complete Transportation of Dangerous Goods certification.
· Managing stock levels in the yard including all steel stock as well as the gas dock.
· Overseeing steel inventory counts and working with the management team to do weekly steel stock orders from suppliers
· Weekly ordering of gas bottles to keep gas dock stocked as well as driving to Vancouver to pick up weekly order.
· Ensuring the yard is kept clean and tidy as well as overseeing, implementing and enforcing health and safety in the yard.
· Working with the management team and being involved in all yard employee evaluations, disciplinary actions and employee management.
· Oversee the used oil waste management recycling program
. Ensure proper maintenance of any yard equipment including cutting tools and fork lifts.
. Step in and perform other yard duties as required including fulfilling customer orders and dealing with customers that enter the yard.
Job requirements:
· Exceptional customer service skills with the desire to exceed customer expectations.
· Valid and clean class 5 driver’s license.
· Able to operate a forklift (will need to get license) and a flat deck truck.
. Will need to obtain the Transport of Dangerous Goods certification
· Comfortable using basic hand and power tools and accurate with a tape measure.
· Experience with industrial gas cylinders or steel stock is an asset.
· Ability to show initiative and look for ways to help your team or improve processes or practices.

· Willing to work outside in all weather conditions.
· Ability to communicate technical information in a simple manner.
· Strong time management, being punctual and time efficient.
· Ability to work as part of a team and be a team player as well as bring out the best in your team.
· Candidate will need to dress for outdoor work with steel toe boots. Some work wear and gloves can be provided.
· Experience swaging cable would be an asset.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00-$32.00 per hour
