We are looking for a Medical Receptionist / Optometric Assistant who takes pride in creating that experience every day.

What the Role Looks Like
This role combines front desk patient care with hands-on clinical support. You will move between reception and pre-testing depending on where the clinic needs you, helping keep patient flow running smoothly throughout the day.
On the clinical side, you will be trained to use advanced diagnostic technology including OCT, retinal imaging, autorefraction, visual fields, and Neurolens. Full training is provided — you do not need prior experience with this equipment. What matters is that you are comfortable learning technology and genuinely interested in the clinical side of eye care.
Front desk and pre-testing are the core of this role. We are looking for someone who enjoys both aspects of the position and takes pride in delivering an exceptional patient experience.
Medical Reception Responsibilities
- Welcoming patients and creating a positive first impression
- Managing incoming calls, messages, and appointment scheduling
- Coordinating patient flow throughout the clinic
- Processing payments and assisting with insurance submissions
- Communicating with patients regarding appointments and follow-up care
Optometric Assistant Responsibilities
- Greeting patients and escorting them to begin pre-testing
- Performing diagnostic testing using equipment such as Optos, OCT, autorefractor, visual fields, and Neurolens
- Collecting patient history, medications, and reason for visit
- Preparing patients so doctors can move efficiently through their examinations
- Assisting with clinic flow and supporting the team as needed

What We Are Looking For In Your Background
A minimum of 2 years of customer service experience in a fast-paced environment is required.
This could include experience in:
- Medical or dental offices
- Veterinary clinics
- Hospitality or hotel environments
- Restaurant leadership roles
- Retail leadership
- High-volume customer service environments
- Other
Healthcare or optometry experience is considered an asset but is not required. We provide comprehensive training on our pre-testing equipment and clinical procedures. The ideal candidate is comfortable learning and using new technology, organized, adaptable, and able to manage competing priorities while ensuring every patient feels welcomed and cared for throughout their visit.
