Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food handling within a restaurant or food service environment. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating authentic sushi dishes, maintaining high standards of food safety, and delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests. Duties
- Prepare and assemble sushi dishes with precision and artistry, ensuring presentation meets quality standards
- Handle all aspects of sushi preparation, including cutting, rolling, and plating
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station in accordance with food safety regulations
- Assist in the development of new sushi recipes and menu items to enhance customer offerings
- Ensure all ingredients are stored properly and rotated regularly to maintain freshness
- Serve customers directly when needed, providing excellent food service and product knowledge
- Follow proper food handling procedures to uphold health standards and prevent contamination
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation during busy service hours
Qualifications
- Proven experience in serving, food preparation, cooking, or food handling within a restaurant or food industry setting
- Strong skills in meal preparation, especially in sushi making and Japanese cuisine techniques
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for handling raw fish and other ingredients
- Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is highly preferred
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
