Position Summary
ZL Chemicals is seeking a Regional Account Manager – EOR & Frac Chemicals to drive sales growth while providing technical field support for our friction reducer and Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) polymer product lines across Alberta and Saskatchewan. This field-based role combines business development, account management, and hands-on technical support. The successful candidate will work closely with oil and gas operators, pressure pumping companies, and EOR customers to deliver technical solutions, support field operations, and grow our market presence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales & Business Development
- Develop and execute a sales strategy for ZL's friction reducer and EOR polymer product lines across Alberta and Saskatchewan.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities with operators, pressure pumping companies, and EOR project teams.
- Build and maintain long-term customer relationships through technical expertise and responsive service.
- Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and support product trials.
- Prepare sales forecasts and monitor customer demand to support production planning.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity, providing regular commercial insights to management.
- Manage customer accounts and provide weekly sales updates to the Sales Director.
- Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to maintain customer inventory and ensure timely product deliveries.
2. Technical Field Support
- Travel to customer sites throughout Alberta and Saskatchewan to support EOR polymer operations.
- Conduct polymer viscosity testing in accordance with API RP 63.
- Perform water chemistry analysis, including pH, conductivity, hardness, iron, H₂S, and oil content.
- Collect polymer samples using approved preservation and high-pressure sampling procedures.
- Support polymer make-down, hydration, quality verification, filter monitoring, and feeder calibration.
- Troubleshoot polymer preparation and injection systems, escalating complex issues when required.
- Maintain field inventory and prepare accurate daily and monthly field reports.
- Ensure compliance with all company and customer HSE policies and safe chemical handling procedures.
3. Reporting & Communication
- Work closely with customer field personnel to gather operational data and observations.
- Prepare technical reports with findings and recommendations.
- Communicate customer feedback and technical findings to ZL's commercial and technical teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent industry experience will be considered.
- 3–5 years of experience in oilfield chemical sales, technical sales, or field services.
- Experience with hydraulic fracturing fluids and friction reducer products.
- Experience with EOR polymer flooding is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of API RP 63 and standard water chemistry testing.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
- Valid driver's licence.

Work Location
- Home office based in Alberta (Calgary or Edmonton preferred)

Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive base salary: CAD 95,000 – 120,000 per annum, commensurate with experience
