Medical Office Assistant / Phlebotomist

What You'll Do:
Patient Care & Clinical Support
- Welcome patients with warmth and professionalism, helping create a positive and comfortable experience from arrival to departure.
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
- Measure and accurately document vital signs, including height, weight, blood pressure, and blood glucose levels.
- Perform venipuncture and specimen collection safely and confidently while ensuring patient comfort.
- Clearly explain procedures and provide reassurance to patients as needed.
- Label, document, and manage specimens accurately in accordance with laboratory standards.
- Prepare, clean, and disinfect examination rooms following infection prevention and control protocols.
Administrative Support
- Answer incoming calls, respond to messages, and assist patients with inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner.
- Schedule, coordinate, and confirm appointments while maintaining an organized workflow.
- Enter and update patient information accurately within the Accuro EMR system.
- Ensure examination rooms and clinical areas remain clean, organized, and fully stocked.
- Support physicians and healthcare providers with administrative and clinical tasks as required.
Professional Responsibilities
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to all privacy legislation and clinic policies.
- Follow workplace safety and infection prevention standards at all times.

Qualifications
- Certification in Phlebotomy from a Canadian-accredited Phlebotomy Institute (required).
- Previous experience in a medical office, clinic, or healthcare setting preferred.
- Experience using Accuro EMR is considered a strong asset.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities with strong attention to detail.
- Strong computer skills and comfort working with electronic medical records.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A caring, patient-focused attitude and commitment to exceptional service.
