Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Laser Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC laser cutting machines to produce precise metal and sheet material components. Responsibilities
- Set up CNC laser cutting machines by selecting appropriate tooling, programming, and calibration based on detailed blueprints and specifications
- Operate CNC laser equipment efficiently to produce accurate cuts on various sheet metal and metal components
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to ensure precise fabrication
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration of CNC laser machines to maximize uptime and performance
- Conduct quality inspections using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances
- Collaborate with team members on fabrication processes, assembly requirements, and tooling adjustments
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols related to CNC machining, electrical discharge machining (EDM), plasma cutting, welding, and other manufacturing processes
Requirements
- Proven experience operating CNC laser cutting machines in a manufacturing or fabrication setting
- Strong mechanical knowledge of CNC machinery including programming, tooling, and maintenance procedures
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and precision measurement tools such as micrometers and calipers
- Ability to utilize hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment like press brake machines, CNC lathes, milling machines, stamping presses, cranes, forklifts, and welding tools
- Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and material requirements
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to electrical discharge machining (EDM), plasma cutting, sheet metal handling, and crane operation
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy materials as needed
