THE OPPORTUNITY:

Reporting to the Controller, the Cost Accountant provides critical support for all functions within the accounting department, especially the costing of trailers. In addition, the Cost Accountant will assist in the preparation of company financial reports and provide occasional backup in Accounts Payable.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Cost all trailers and prepare summary reports for management.
- Preparation of daily cash reports.
- Assist in the preparation of year end schedules for the company's annual audit.
- Identify and resolve inventory issues and p perform adjustments as required
- Work with the senior management team to implement process improvements.
- Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules
- Provide occasional backfill for Accounts Payable (vacation relief)
- Other projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years' experience in an accounting role.
- Accounting education (Accounting Technician or CPA student) or equivalent experience.
- Experience working in a manufacturing sector a definite asset.
- Exceptional Excel skills
- Experience using ERP systems
- Very strong oral and written English skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to exercise sound judgment
- Ability to make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
- High level of integrity and dependability
- Detail oriented
