We are currently seeking a Customer Support Representative to work out of our office in Mississauga, Ontario.

Through our brands: Hose Technology, Multi-Flow Solutions and Hetronic Canada, we are able to offer solutions to Original Equipment Manufactures, distributors, aftermarket sales and end users. Our reputation was built in fluid conveyance, and this has since extended to fluid power and controls.
Our fluid conveyance offering ranges from end user hose replacements right through to full hydraulic conveyance kitting for some of North America’s largest OEMs. We also offer full hydraulic system servicing, both on site and in our shop. Our engineering department can help with the smallest of requests right up to designing and building large power units. Our drive to sell and service the best brands in the world has established our relationship with Hetronic Radio Remotes, by being Hetronic Canada, our clients can now lean on the UMI Group for support in radio remotes and electrical controls.
The Customer Support Representative will be responsible for managing inventory levels directly at customer locations, ensuring optimal stock levels and seamless operations. This role requires regular visits to customer sites to monitor inventory, place replenishment orders, and maintain strong relationships with customers. The Customer Support Representative will be the primary point of contact for customers, addressing their inventory needs and providing real-time solutions to inventory challenges. They will also build hydraulic, pneumatic, and industrial hose assemblies to customer specifications and support custom manufacturing services.

Responsibilities:
Onsite Inventory Management:
- Visit customer locations regularly to monitor and manage inventory levels.
- Perform physical inventory counts and audits to ensure accuracy.
- Place replenishment orders based on customer demand, usage patterns, and inventory policies.
- Adjust inventory levels as needed to prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Serve as the primary onsite representative for VMI (Vendor-Managed Inventory), maintaining strong, positive relationships with customers.
- Understand customer requirements and expectations to provide tailored inventory solutions.
- Act as liaison between the customer and the UMI team to address customers opportunities to create value for them.
- Actively pursue potential customers to drive business growth and expand market reach.
- Communicate regularly with customers to review inventory status, address concerns, and provide updates.
Coordination with Internal Teams:
- Coordinate with internal teams (e.g., procurement, logistics, customer service) to manage the entire supply chain process.
- Provide feedback to internal teams to improve inventory processes and customer satisfaction.
Problem Resolution:
- Address and resolve any onsite inventory discrepancies or issues in real-time.
- Proactively identify potential inventory challenges and take corrective actions to prevent disruptions.
- Collaborate with customers to develop and implement solutions for any inventory-related problems.
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to improve onsite inventory management processes and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Implement best practices for inventory management, including efficient space utilization, labeling, and product rotation.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to VMI and supply chain management.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure all inventory management activities comply with customer policies, industry regulations, and company standards.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inventory levels, transactions, and customer interactions.
- Assist in audits, reviews, and reporting requirements related to onsite inventory management.
- All other duties as required.
Shop Support Duties:
- Build hydraulic, pneumatic, and industrial hose assemblies to customer specifications
- Provide exceptional, attentive, and courteous customer service through phone, email, and in‑person interactions, ensuring customer needs are understood and addressed with appropriate solutions.
- Follow all procedures and safety protocols to ensure safe and consistent operations.
- Seek opportunities to improve customer service quality and enhance operational efficiency.
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries, needs, and concerns, ensuring expectations are met
- Assist with cycle counts and inventory
- Perform other duties as assigned·
Qualifications:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Two or more years of experience in inventory management, supply chain management, or a related role, with a preference for onsite or fieldwork experience.
- Valid G class license and the ability to travel regularly to customer sites.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively while on customer sites.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle unexpected challenges.
- Ability to lift and move inventory items as required (may include manual handling of products).
