Reporting to the Financial Reporting Manager, this role is a key contributor to IFRS-compliant external financial reporting, monthly and quarterly close, consolidations, and internal controls over financial reporting.
What you’ll do:
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual IFRS financial statements, MD&A, and SEDAR+ filings
- Perform consolidations, intercompany and other required reconciliations.
- Support monthly/quarterly close processes and variance analysis.
- Prepare technical accounting memos and support implementation of new/amended IFRS standards with guidance.
- Support ICFR documentation, testing, and remediation.
- Act as a key liaison with external auditors and internal finance/business teams. Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities would be a plus.
- Serve as a key user of the consolidation tool, responsible for maintaining system structures, performing data validations, monitoring consolidation workflows, and coordinating with IT/vendor support with upgrades or as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
What you bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA designation (or in progress) preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in financial reporting and accounting; public company experience would be considered an asset.
- Knowledge of IFRS and public company reporting requirements.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with consolidation.
- Hyperion and Workday experience would be considered an asset; with ability to quickly adapt to new financial systems.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex or ambiguous financial information, apply IFRS guidance, identify root causes, and recommend effective solutions.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally with Finance, Risk Management, IT, external auditors, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and support enterprise-wide reporting objectives.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Salary: $69,300 - $86,550 annually, (based on skills, experience, qualifications, and geography).
