Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanic Helper to support our maintenance and repair team. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with heavy equipment, industrial machinery, and automotive systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, willingness to learn, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in trucks and heavy-duty vehicles
- Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, brake adjustments, tire rotations, and fluid checks
- Repair or replace engines, transmissions, axles, steering systems, and suspension components
- Diagnose faults using computerized diagnostic equipment and technical manuals
- Inspect brake systems, air systems, and emissions control systems to ensure safety and compliance
- Perform preventive maintenance to minimize breakdowns and extend vehicle life
- Test vehicles after repairs to ensure proper performance and safety
- Maintain accurate service records and repair documentation
- Follow safety procedures and company maintenance standards
- Communicate with supervisors and drivers regarding vehicle condition and repair needs
- Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and in good working order
Requirements
- Previous dealership or mechanic experience preferred but not required; willingness to learn on the job is essential
- Basic knowledge of automotive repair, HVAC systems, welding, electrical systems, or industrial maintenance is desirable
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, schematics, and assembly instructions effectively
- Strong mechanical knowledge with an aptitude for troubleshooting complex systems
- Physically capable of heavy lifting and performing manual labor for extended periods
- Excellent customer service skills are a plus for interacting with clients or team members
- Must be reliable, safety-conscious, and eager to develop technical skills in a dynamic environment
