Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk / Bookkeeper to join our team in a fast-paced auction environment. This role supports full-cycle accounting and bookkeeping, including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), payroll support, bank reconciliations, and month-end close.
Responsibilities
Accounts Payable (AP)
- Process and code vendor invoices, verify approvals, and prepare payments
- Prepare and process customer refunds and sales adjustments
- Maintain accurate AP records and ensure timely payments
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Post payments and reconcile customer accounts
- Maintain and reconcile AR subledger accounts
Payroll & Remittances
- Assist with payroll processing including data entry and payroll calculations
- Maintain payroll records and support statutory remittances
- Ensure payroll accuracy and compliance
Banking & Reconciliations
- Perform bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and clearing accounts
- Reconcile general ledger accounts
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies
Auction & Settlement Accounting
- Process consignment files and settlement statements
- Reconcile auction settlements to general ledger
- Monitor post-sale adjustments
Qualifications
- Diploma or certificate in Accounting or Bookkeeping (required)
- 4+ years accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred
Skills
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience with AP, AR, payroll, and reconciliations
- Proficiency with Sage 50 and Microsoft Excel with the ability to learn new or updated software
- Ability to work under tight deadlines during auction events
- Payroll experience would be beneficial
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Working Conditions
- Long periods sitting in front of a computer.
- Overtime must be pre-approved by the manager.
Psychological Demands
Expected to make quick decisions, problem solve, read, write and interpret data.

Pay: $40,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
