Position Summary
The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for leading daily manufacturing operations to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity targets. This hands-on leadership role oversees machining and fabrication activities, supports employees in resolving technical issues, and drives continuous improvement while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate daily production activities to meet customer schedules while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and productivity.
- Supervise, coach, and develop machinists and machine operators through regular feedback, training, and performance management.
- Support machine setups and troubleshoot CNC mills, lathes, punch presses, and other manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime and improve throughput.
- Ensure operators follow standardized work, engineering drawings, setup sheets, and inspection requirements while maintaining tight dimensional tolerances.
- Monitor production performance, labour utilization, scrap, downtime, and schedule attainment, implementing corrective actions when required.
- Champion Lean Manufacturing, 5S, root cause problem solving, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promote a strong safety culture by conducting workplace inspections, enforcing safe work practices, and maintaining an organized work environment.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Production Planning to resolve manufacturing issues and support process improvements.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of supervisory experience in a machining or heavy manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, tooling, machine setup, cutting parameters, and fabrication operations.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, blueprints, and work instructions.
- Proficient in the use of precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and bore gauges.
- Working knowledge of CNC programming concepts (G-code/M-code), CAD/CAM systems, and ERP/MRP software.
- Technical diploma in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field is preferred.

Pay: $70,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
