Discovery Academy was founded by the current owner in 2006. She is a Physics PhD researcher as well as a mathematician and educator who committed her life to teaching.
We are looking to hire summer time teachers for Science, Biology, (SBI3U/4U), and Chemistry (SCH3U/4U).

Must have 1-2 years in-class experience as well as a University degree.
Must be a permanent resident within 10-20km from Yonge and Major Mackenzie.

The ideal candidate will be active in the community and make themselves available for parent consultations, taking parent suggestions and discussing the educational needs of individual students.
Examples of responsibilities:
-Uphold our educational policies and integrate the common core guidelines into each class curriculum
-Create benchmarks for students and track progress towards those goals
-Provide guidance to the school’s network of student leaders and challenge those leaders to make the school a better place
-Respond immediately to concerns from parents and school board administrators
- Have a commitment to creating a productive educational experience
- Bring energy to the classroom and school environment to motivate students
-Introduce interesting topics outside of the curriculum surrounding science and recent developments such as AI

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
