Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent customer service and organizational skills
- Knowledge of attractions, events, tourism products/services
- Team player who is able to work independently
- Computer skills including MS Office
- Outgoing, friendly and welcoming
- Independent self starter who is able to work with little supervision.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide a welcoming first point of contact for visitors to Radium Hot Springs and the Columbia Valley
- Respond to inquiries in person, by phone, and by email
- Share accurate, up-to-date information about local attractions, accommodations, transportation, and events
- Assist visitors with itinerary planning and travel recommendations
- Promote tourism products, services, and events throughout the Columbia Valley
- Provide current travel information, including road conditions, weather, and travel advisories
- Deliver visitor services both within the Visitor Centre and through roaming outreach
- Collect and record visitor statistics
- Maintain brochure racks and ensure materials are well stocked and organized
- Assist with reviewing and updating visitor materials as needed
- Follow Visitor Centre Standard Operating Procedures
- Support additional tourism and administrative tasks as assigned
On-site training as well as Destination BC Visitor Services training will be provided.
Candidates must meet requirements of Canada Summer Jobs Program.
Currently hiring for full-time seasonal with opportunity for year-round employment.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Seasonal
Part-time hours: 24-40 per week
Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
