Responsibilities
- Assist with the cleanup and removal of storm debris, including fallen trees, damaged structures, and other hazards
- Use hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely and effectively to dismantle or repair affected areas
- Perform thorough cleaning of affected sites to eliminate dust, dirt, and debris, ensuring a safe environment for subsequent restoration work
- Support the setup and breakdown of temporary containment or protective barriers during restoration projects
- Follow safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents and ensure a secure work environment for yourself and team members
- Collaborate with team members to efficiently complete restoration tasks while maintaining high standards of quality
- Document work performed and report any safety concerns or damages to supervisors promptly
Skills
- Experience with cleaning techniques specific to disaster cleanup environments
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as sledgehammers, shovels, prying bars, and wrenches
- Familiarity with power tools including saws, drills, or grinders is highly desirable
- Construction experience or background in restoration work helps accelerate your effectiveness on site
- Ability to operate safely around heavy machinery and construction equipment
- Strong physical stamina with the ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual labor for extended periods
- Excellent teamwork skills combined with a positive attitude and eagerness to learn
