James Auto Group is a fast-growing and well-established automotive dealership group committed to operational excellence, strong financial performance, and exceptional customer service. With multiple dealership operations and continued expansion, we are seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive leadership team.
This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all financial operations across the dealership group while providing strategic guidance to support business growth, profitability, and long-term success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee all accounting and financial operations across the dealership group
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and financial performance analysis
- Develop and implement financial controls, policies, and operational efficiencies
- Oversee dealership accounting functions including payroll, AP/AR, reconciliations, and OEM reporting
- Monitor financial KPIs and provide strategic recommendations to ownership and senior leadership
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, lender requirements, and internal policies
- Manage relationships with banks, auditors, manufacturers, and external advisors
- Support mergers, acquisitions, expansions, and other strategic initiatives as required
- Lead, mentor, and develop accounting and finance teams across multiple locations
- Drive continuous improvement in systems, reporting accuracy, and operational processes
Qualifications:
- CPA designation required
- Minimum 5+ years of senior financial leadership experience, preferably within automotive dealership operations or multi-location businesses
- Strong understanding of dealership accounting, OEM financial reporting, and automotive retail operations
- Experience with dealership management systems (CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, PBS, or similar platforms) considered a strong asset
- Proven ability to manage budgets, cash flow, forecasting, and financial strategy
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving business environment
