We are seeking a motivated Surveyor Technician to join our small but rapidly growing surveying team. This role is ideal for someone who wants hands‑on field exposure, diverse project experience, and the chance to grow their technical capabilities in a supportive, family‑style work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Surveyors in conducting field surveys for construction, land development, and infrastructure projects.
- Operate and maintain surveying instruments such as GNSS receivers, total stations, data collectors, and digital levels.
- Collect, record, and verify field data with a high degree of accuracy.
- Perform basic calculations, checks, and data processing to support design and construction activities.
- Support layout tasks including staking, as‑built measurements, topographic surveys, and boundary evidence collection.
- Ensure all work follows safety protocols, project specifications, and industry standards.
- Maintain equipment, vehicles, and field supplies in good working order.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and high‑quality deliverables.
Required Experience & Competencies (1–2 Years Minimum)
Candidates should demonstrate practical experience in the field and a solid foundation in core surveying competencies, including:
- Instrument Proficiency — Ability to set up, operate, and troubleshoot total stations, GNSS units, and data collectors.
- Field Data Collection — Experience capturing accurate measurements, conducting checks, and validating data integrity.
- Construction Layout Support — Familiarity with layout tasks such as gridlines, offsets, elevations, and control points.
- Understanding of Survey Principles — Knowledge of coordinate systems, datums, tolerances, and basic adjustment methods.
- Technical Awareness — Ability to read plans, interpret drawings, and understand site instructions.
- Problem‑Solving — Capable of identifying field issues (obstructions, line‑of‑sight challenges, equipment errors) and proposing practical solutions.
- Communication & Teamwork — Comfortable working closely with Surveyors, contractors, and project stakeholders.
- Physical Capability — Able to work outdoors in varying conditions and handle the physical demands of fieldwork.

Qualifications
- 1–2 years of field experience in surveying or geomatics.
- Diploma or certificate in Surveying, Geomatics,, Municipal, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field (preferred).
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites.
- Proficiency with common survey software and equipment (Trimble, Topcon, or similar).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
