Inside Sales Agent (ISA) – Real Estate Team
Location: [Calgary, AB / Remote / Hybrid]
Job Type: [Part-Time / Full-Time]
Compensation: [Hourly Rate + Bonuses / Salary + Commission]
About the Role
We are looking for a confident, personable, and motivated Inside Sales Agent (ISA) to join our growing real estate team.
The ISA will be responsible for making the initial contact with new leads, determining whether they are actively considering buying or selling real estate, gathering important information about their needs, and connecting qualified opportunities with one of our real estate agents.
This is not a position where you will be expected to manage the client throughout the entire transaction. Your main responsibility is to create a positive first impression, qualify the lead, collect the necessary details, and complete a warm handoff to the appropriate agent.
Key Responsibilities
- Contact new leads by phone, text, and email in a timely manner.
- Introduce yourself and the real estate team in a professional and welcoming way.
- Confirm whether the lead is currently considering buying, selling, or investing in real estate.
- Ask qualifying questions to understand the lead’s goals, motivation, timeline, and readiness.
- Gather important property criteria, including:
- Preferred locations
- Budget or price range
- Property type
- Number of bedrooms and bathrooms
- Required features
- Financing or mortgage status
- Desired moving timeline
- Enter accurate and detailed notes into the team’s CRM.
- Schedule appointments or phone calls between qualified leads and the appropriate real estate agent.
- Complete a clear and organized handoff so the agent can take over the relationship.
- Follow the team’s scripts, systems, and lead-response procedures.
- Maintain professional and consistent communication with all leads.
- Follow up with leads who do not respond to the first contact attempt.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Clear and professional verbal and written communication.
- Friendly, confident, and outgoing personality.
- Comfortable speaking with new people over the phone.
- Previous sales, customer service, appointment-setting, or call-centre experience is preferred.
- Strong listening skills and the ability to ask effective qualifying questions.
- Ability to build rapport quickly and make people feel comfortable.
- Organized and capable of taking accurate, detailed notes.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and consistent with follow-up.
- Comfortable using a CRM, email, text messaging, and basic computer systems.
- Ability to handle objections and continue conversations without being overly aggressive.
- Strong time-management skills and the ability to respond to new leads promptly.
- Coachable and willing to follow established scripts and processes.
- A basic understanding of real estate is an asset but not required.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys talking to people, communicates naturally, and is comfortable making calls throughout the day. You should be able to have genuine conversations without sounding scripted or overly sales-focused.
You understand how to identify serious opportunities, gather useful information, and pass the lead to an agent with clear notes and context. You are not afraid of rejection, remain positive when leads do not answer, and consistently follow up without becoming discouraged.
What Success Looks Like
Success in this role will be measured by:
- Speed of response to new leads
- Number of meaningful conversations
- Quality of information collected
- Number of qualified leads transferred to agents
- Number of appointments scheduled
- Accuracy of CRM notes
- Consistency with calls and follow-up
- Overall quality of the lead experience
What We Offer
- Scripts, training, and ongoing support
- A steady supply of real estate leads
- Clear systems and expectations
- Opportunities for performance-based bonuses
- A positive and supportive team environment
- Potential opportunities for growth within the real estate industry
