Job Summary:
We are currently seeking an experienced Welder Fitter to join our growing team. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of welding and fitting experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, custom fabrication environment. This is not a production line position—each day brings new and diverse challenges. A weld test will be conducted prior to the interview.
Key Responsibilities:
· Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings
· Use of overhead cranes & forklifts
· Experience working with stainless steel & aluminum an asset
· Experience with pre & post heating of work pieces
· Fit and weld light gage to heavy plate materials up to 2” thick
· Perform layout and fabrication of custom metal components
· Use various welding processes including MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux-Core
· Work within a CWB-certified shop environment
· Maintain safe and clean work practices
· Perform on-site or road work when required (an asset but not mandatory)
· Participate in repair and maintenance of equipment and machinery
· Assist apprentices with their work & training.
Required Experience & Skills:
· Minimum 7 years of welder fitter experience (required)
· Proven experience with heavy plate fitting
· Proficient in various welding techniques:
o TIG:
o MIG:
o Stick:
o Flux-core:
· Comfortable with layout, measurements, and blueprint reading
· Strong mechanical background — please share what you’ve worked on
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Familiarity with CWB and TSSA standards (preferred)
· Maintain a positive work atmosphere, by acting and communicating in a manner that is constructive and that will promote positive relations with clients, coworkers and management.
· Versatility and a broad range of Experience.
Some certifications used at BWM:
· CWB W59, W47.1 (Steel), and W47.2 (Aluminum)
· TSSA for Boilers and Pressure Vessels (CSA B51)
· ASME B31.1, B31.3, B31.5 standards
· SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, and SAW processes

Schedule:
· Monday to Friday
· 8-hour shift 8:00am – 4:30pm (Dayshift)
· Overtime and occasional weekends as needed
