OVERALL PURPOSE:
To participate in the safe, accurate and timely processing of deliveries to meet LOOMIS EXPRESS on-time performance standards.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Delivery and Pick-Up of Freight/Packages
- Make all reasonable efforts to meet established delivery times
- Perform safety checks on trucks before each use
- Ensure proper maintenance of truck
- Operate truck/van as required
- Scanner usage
- Customer service
- Be able to lift heavy packages/freight as required
- Other duties as assigned and as detailed within the CBA & business agreement
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- High School education
- Valid provincial driver’s license
- Must have a clean driver’s abstract
- Gov't of Manitoba valid DG certificate
- Able to lift 70 lbs
- Must own or be willing to obtain own vehicle that meets company specifications (One Ton cube truck)
- Must be able to perform repetitive tasks (getting in and out of truck/van, lifting/delivering packages/freight by hand and/or with use of hand cart
- Flexible to work routes assigned
