Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in medical and dental office settings, with strong administrative skills and familiarity with electronic medical records systems. Duties
- Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner at the front desk
- Manage multi-line phone systems, schedule appointments, and confirm patient visits
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records using systems such as Epic and Dentrix
- Assist with check-in and check-out procedures, including collecting insurance information and payments
- Prepare and update patient charts, ensuring all documentation is complete and current
- Handle administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and correspondence
- Coordinate with medical staff to facilitate smooth daily operations
- Ensure compliance with healthcare privacy regulations and office policies
- Support billing processes and insurance claims as needed
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a Receptionist or Medical Office Assistant preferred
- Proficiency in electronic medical records systems such as TELUS CHR
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare documentation standards
- Office experience with front desk duties, multi-line phone systems, and administrative tasks
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism
- Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, staff, and insurance providers
- Previous dental or medical office experience is highly desirable
