The Role
Win-Shield Devices is seeking a Fabrication & Paint Technician to support our R&D Lab in the final stages of assembling critical assemblies. Reporting to the Senior R&D Lab Technician, this role involves hands-on fabrication, finishing, assembly, and organization of components used in respirator and protective equipment development. Opportunity to contribute to innovative Canadian-made products used in critical industries.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys detailed, hands-on work in a busy shop environment and can manage repetitive tasks while maintaining a high standard of quality and precision.
Requested Qualifications
- Experience handling precision parts and materials requiring careful application
techniques
- Autobody painting / finishing would be considered an asset
- Production, fabrication, or finishing experience
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform precision work
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to follow written procedures and work instructions
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities
- Good organizational skills and reliability
- Experience with power hand tools
Responsibilities
- Support R&D and prototype development activities
- Operate vacuum casting equipment
- Perform hands-on casting, trimming, sanding, finishing, and painting of parts
- Mix and handle two-part resins, urethanes, adhesives, and coatings
- Bond and assemble components using adhesives and fastening methods
- Clean, inspect, label, and organize finished parts and materials
- Maintain organized inventory and monitor supply levels
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality requirements
- Assist with part storage, labeling, and shop organization
- Support general shop operations and maintenance of a clean workspace
- Perform repetitive production tasks while maintaining attention to detail
Working Conditions
- Small shop and laboratory environment
- Exposure to adhesives, paints, solvents, resins, and other shop materials
- Standing and repetitive hand work for extended periods
- Use of PPE and safe handling procedures required
