Lambert Plumbing is seeking a Mechanical Engineer or Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) to join our project delivery team, focused on re‑piping and mechanical work in occupied commercial and multi‑residential buildings.

Our commercial crew dives into everything from T.I. and renovations to commercial re-piping projects ranging from $30,000 to $3 million across the Lower Mainland
Key Responsibilities
Estimating & Pre‑Construction
- Review drawings, site conditions, and existing systems for re‑piping and renovation projects
- Develop detailed cost estimates using Excel‑based models
- Identify constructability risks, access constraints, shutdown planning, and sequencing challenges
- Support scope definition and pricing for negotiated and hard‑bid work
Project Delivery
- Plan and manage mechanical and plumbing renovation projects from award through close‑out
- Build and maintain project schedules using MS Project or equivalent
- Coordinate with site supervisors, foremen, subcontractors, inspectors, and consultants
- Manage change orders, RFIs, shutdowns, and occupant coordination
- Track budgets, job costs, progress billings, and forecasts
- Support site problem‑solving where existing conditions don’t match drawings (which is often)
Client & Stakeholder Interface
- Communicate clearly with property managers, strata councils, owners, and consultants
- Explain technical issues in practical, non‑theoretical terms
- Help manage expectations around access, noise, outages, and sequencing in occupied buildings
Job Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering (building systems focus);
- Registered Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) eligible in BC
- Experience with building mechanical systems, including plumbing, domestic water, sanitary, gas, or hydronic systems
- Strong proficiency in Excel for estimating, cost analysis, and tracking
- Working knowledge of MS Project (or similar scheduling tools)
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications
- Valid BC driver’s license
Strong Assets
- Experience with renovations, retrofits, or re‑piping projects
- Contractor‑side, construction management, or site‑exposed consulting experience
- Familiarity with working in occupied buildings
- Estimating or job costing experience
- Experience coordinating shutdowns, phasing, and access constraints

Compensation
Salary and Commission: $100,000.00-$135,000.00 with a profit-sharing commission structure on projects of increasing value.
Pay: $100,000.00-$135,000.00 per year
