We are seeking a skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, the Sous Chef will assist management in overseeing daily operations, ensuring high standards of food quality and safety, and maintaining an efficient and collaborative work environment. Responsibilities
- Assist management in supervising kitchen staff and managing daily kitchen operations
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and quality
- Lead by example in food handling, safety procedures, and sanitation standards
- Coordinate with team members to ensure timely service and efficient workflow
- Support menu development and contribute to new dish ideas
- Ensure compliance with all health regulations and food safety standards
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and control food costs
- Serve as a mentor to junior kitchen staff, providing training and guidance on culinary techniques and best practices
- Step into leadership roles during shifts to maintain smooth restaurant operations
Skills
- Proven supervising experience within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Strong skills in food preparation, cooking, and food presentation
- Excellent team management and leadership capabilities
- In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and proper handling procedures
- Experience with restaurant management systems and inventory control
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional communication skills to coordinate effectively with staff and management
- Passion for the food industry with a focus on hospitality excellence
- Knowledge of serving standards and customer service principles
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team while maintaining high standards of quality and safety
