What You'll Be Doing
As a Journeyperson Electrician, you'll work alongside our construction team to install commercial electrical systems from rough-in through final commissioning. You'll take ownership of your work, support apprentices, and help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Your responsibilities include:
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, specifications, and electrical schematics
- Installing conduit, cable tray, feeders, wiring, lighting systems, panels, and electrical equipment
- Installing and terminating distribution equipment, switchgear, transformers, and panelboards
- Performing conduit layout and installation, including EMT, rigid, and PVC systems
- Installing underground raceways and electrical services
- Completing equipment terminations and system testing
- Coordinating daily work with project managers, site supervisors, and other trades
- Planning work, preparing material lists, and organizing required materials
- Ensuring all work complies with the Canadian Electrical Code and project specifications
- Maintaining clean, organized, and safe job sites
- Supervising and mentoring apprentice electricians
- Participating in safety meetings and promoting a strong safety culture
- Assisting with commissioning, deficiency corrections, and project closeout

Qualifications
- Licensed Journeyperson Electrician
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with reliable transportation
- Elevated Work Platform certification
- Fall Protection/Fall Arrest certification
- Standard First Aid is considered an asset
- Comfortable working at heights
Experience
- Commercial construction experience
- Strong understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code
- Experience installing commercial power distribution systems
- Proficient in conduit bending and raceway installation
- Experience reading blueprints and electrical drawings
- Experience installing lighting, power, and branch circuitry
- Experience with underground electrical installations
- Ability to prepare material lists and plan work efficiently
- Experience supervising or mentoring apprentices
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated
- Commitment to quality workmanship and job-site safety
