The Opportunity
The Logistics Coordinator will manage the facility's daily inbound and outbound logistics, inventory tracking, and warehouse organization. In this role, you will ensure absolute accuracy and safety during the receiving, storing, packing, and shipping of all goods while maintaining a highly organized and compliant workspace.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the unloading of goods from trucks. Unpack, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against invoices or purchase orders.
- Document any shortages or discrepancies and reject damaged items.
- Determine the best shipping methods and arrange transport.
- Assemble containers/crates, pack, seal, and label outgoing products with precise identifying information and shipping instructions.
- Prepare and manage bills of lading, customs forms, invoices, and other logistical documents (manually or via computer).
- Maintain internal, accurate digital or manual record-keeping systems.
- Assign codes to materials and route received goods to their appropriate warehouse storage locations.
- Conduct routine stock counts to ensure inventory database accuracy.
- Safely operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, to efficiently load, unload, transport, and store goods.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment while strictly adhering to all workplace health and safety (OHS) regulations.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of experience working in a warehouse, shipping/receiving, or logistics environment is preferred.
- Experience in the industrial and hydraulic hose sector would be an asset.
- Valid forklift operator certification (or the ability/willingness to obtain one quickly) is typically required, as well as experience with manual/electric pallet jacks and hand trucks.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including standing for long periods, bending, reaching, and comfortably lifting up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong basic math skills for rapidly verifying counts, calculating weights for freight shipments, and performing inventory reconciliations.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with transport drivers, procurement teams, and supervisor staff regarding shipment status or damaged arrivals.
- Basic computer proficiency to manage computerized inventory systems, input data, and generate digital shipping documents, alongside strong reading comprehension for verifying invoices and purchase orders.
- Excellent organizational skills with a high level of accuracy when checking part numbers, counting stock, and handling customs or billing documentation.
- A solid understanding of workplace safety practices and a commitment to maintaining a hazard-free work environment.
