Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Home Support Workers to provide essential care and assistance to individuals in their homes. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide medication reminders and assist with medication administration as directed by healthcare professionals
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences
- Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and organizing to maintain a safe and comfortable environment
- Support clients with mobility and transfer techniques, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Offer companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being
- Monitor clients’ health status and report any changes or concerns to healthcare providers or family members
- Assist with specialized care needs such as dementia care or hospice support when required
- Follow care plans accurately and document services provided
Skills
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, hospice care, or home care is preferred
- Strong patient care skills with a compassionate and empathetic approach
- Knowledge of caregiving best practices for seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those with dementia
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility support
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients and healthcare teams
- Ability to prepare meals that meet specific dietary restrictions or preferences
- Basic understanding of medication administration protocols
- Reliable, patient-focused, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Flexibility to adapt to different client needs and schedules
