Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Cardiac Sonographer to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures focused on the heart and vascular system, providing high-quality imaging to assist in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, excellent technical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with patients and medical staff. The Cardiac Sonographer plays a vital role in delivering compassionate patient care while ensuring precise imaging results.
Responsibilities
- Perform echocardiograms and vascular ultrasounds according to physician orders and established protocols
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process and ensuring their comfort
- Operate ultrasound equipment with precision, adjusting settings to obtain optimal images
- Analyze images for quality and clarity, making necessary adjustments during procedures
- Document findings accurately in patient records and communicate results to physicians promptly
- Maintain equipment by performing routine cleaning, calibration, and troubleshooting as needed
- Adhere to safety standards and infection control protocols to protect patients and staff
- Stay current with advancements in ultrasound technology and techniques through ongoing education
Experience
- Prior experience as a Cardiac Sonographer or in a similar diagnostic imaging role is preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology is essential for accurate documentation and communication
- Certification from an accredited sonography program is highly desirable
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients of diverse backgrounds
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
Pay: $18.00-$53.50 per hour
