HomeStar Heating & AC Inc. is seeking an experienced and motivated HVAC Service Technician to join our growing team. We are looking for individuals who take pride in their work, demonstrate professionalism, and are committed to delivering exceptional customer service.
Service Technician Responsibilities
- Arrive on time and maintain a professional appearance and attitude.
- Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and accountability in all aspects of the job.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, service, and repair residential and light commercial HVAC equipment.
- Provide outstanding customer service and clearly explain findings and recommendations to customers.
- Complete all required service documentation accurately using company-provided mobile devices.
- Participate in the on-call rotation, including evenings, weekends, and emergency service as required.
- Follow company policies, safety procedures, and applicable industry codes and standards.
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in a clean and professional condition.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of HVAC service experience required.
- Valid Ontario G2 Gas Technician License is mandatory.
- (Applicants without a valid G2 license will not be considered.)
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Thorough understanding of the CSA B149 Gas Code and applicable industry regulations.
- Valid Ontario Class G Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to service and repair:
- Furnaces
- Air Conditioners
- Heat Pumps
- Ductless Heat Pump Systems
- Tankless Water Heaters
- Gas Boilers
- Rooftop Units (RTUs)
- Gas Fireplaces
- Water Source Heat Pumps (WSHPs)
- Ability to install and service:
- Gas piping systems
- Steam humidifiers
- HEPA air purification systems
- Smart thermostats
- Duct smoke detectors
- Ability to perform basic ductwork modifications and sheet metal work.
- 313D Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic License is considered a strong asset.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Pay: $22.00-$40.00 per hour
Experience:
- Furnace & AC Diagnose: 3 years (preferred)
- Tankless Water Heater: 3 years (preferred)
- Ductless Heat Pump: 3 years (preferred)
- Boiler Diagnose: 2 years (preferred)
- Central Heat Pump Diagnose: 2 years (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Gas Fitter 2 Licence (preferred)
