A modern, fully digital dental office in the centre of Ancaster is looking for a positive, enthusiastic, and fast-learning Certified Dental Assistant to join our team.
We are looking for someone who communicates well, enjoys working with patients, and is comfortable in a busy clinical environment. This is a great opportunity for a dental assistant who wants to be part of a supportive team and continue growing their clinical skills.
Experience with Dentrix, orthodontics, pediatrics, oral surgery, implants, Invisalign, scanning, front desk duties, or treatment coordination is considered a strong asset.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist chairside during dental procedures
- Take dental X-rays as required
- Prepare treatment rooms before patient appointments
- Sterilize instruments and follow infection control protocols
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinical area
- Support room turnover and general clinical cleanup
- Provide post-treatment instructions to patients
- Help ensure patients feel comfortable and well cared for
- Assist with dental charting, treatment plans, and clinical notes
- Support inventory management and ordering of dental materials
- Help with front desk duties when needed, including scheduling and patient flow
- Assist with administrative tasks related to documentation and insurance processing
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant required
- Minimum 1 year of dental assisting experience required
- Strong communication and patient service skills
- Reliable, professional, and team-oriented
- Able to multitask in a fast-paced dental office
- Comfortable working with patients of all ages
- Strong understanding of dental terminology and clinical procedures
Experience Considered an Asset
Experience with any of the following is highly preferred:
- Dentrix dental software
- Wisdom teeth extractions
- Bone grafting procedures
- Dental implant procedures
- Oral moderate sedation
- Invisalign and braces procedures
- Intraoral scanners
- Pediatric dentistry
- Dental charting and treatment plans
- Writing dental procedure clinical notes
- Inventory and ordering dental materials
- Front desk or treatment coordination duties
