About the Team
The Operations team reports up to the Operations Manager. This diligent team is responsible for all the production, manufacturing and quality control operations at ECI. The various parts of this team work efficiently together to ensure that the products that we design and manufacture meet the highest quality standards and provide the innovative solutions our customers expect. The technicians, operators and supervisors who are part of this team collaborate daily and have many opportunities to develop their skills and capabilities.
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Rework Operator who would be responsible for performing rework and repairs on electronic circuit boards. This person should already have a deep understanding of electronic circuit boards and their manufacturing process, including Surface Mount Technology (SMT), through hole assembly and soldering. The Operator plays a critical role in the manufacturing process by addressing any manufacturing issues and ensuring we can fix any defects to deliver high-quality products to our customers. This person must be skilled in their rework abilities and understand board design, safety procedures, quality standards and be familiar with rework equipment. The ideal candidate has strong problem-solving skills, follows instruction well, is good with repetitive tasks and is comfortable around machinery.
Key Responsibilities
· Identify issues with the electronic circuit boards and determining the best course of action to resolve the problem.
· Replace or repair components on electronic circuit boards that are not functioning properly or have failed quality control inspections.
· Utilize a variety of tools and techniques to remove and replace components on electronic circuit boards, including soldering irons, hot air guns, and vacuum extractors.
· Conduct thorough testing and quality control inspections to ensure that repaired or reworked electronic circuit boards meet the required standards and specifications.
· Maintain accurate records of all repairs and rework performed on electronic circuit boards, including details of the components replaced and the techniques used.
· Prepare the rework station for repairs and perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment used in rework and repair tasks, including cleaning, calibration, and replacement of parts.
· Adhere to safety regulations and guidelines while performing rework and repair tasks, including wearing appropriate protective gear and ensuring that tools and equipment are used safely and correctly.
· Assist with training new hires in equipment setup, maintenance and operation.
· Support process and quality improvement activities and work with other teams to implement those changes.
· Follow procedures for proper handling, storage, and disposal of materials to prevent damage or contamination.
· Generate reports on equipment performance, production output, and quality metrics for review by supervisors or quality assurance personnel.
· Provide feedback to engineering teams on equipment performance, process enhancements, and potential areas for improvement.
· Other related tasks as required.
About You
Qualifications
● High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or certification in electronics or manufacturing is preferred.
● Ability to proficiently speak, read and write English.
● 2 years of previous experience Electronic Assembly, preferably in repair and rework of circuit boards.
● Certified IPC Specialist – knowledge of IPC 7711/IPC 7721.
● Strong understanding of electronic circuit board design and functionality, as well as experience with soldering and desoldering components.
● Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
● Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately.
● Great problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
● Ability to work independently and on a team.
● Adaptability to changing environments, deadlines, projects and requirements.
● Excellent communication skills, organization skills and ability to follow instructions.
● Flexibility in regard to work shifts and ability to adapt to changing production schedules.
● Comfortability with fast paced and deadline driven work environment.
● Familiarity with ISO 9001-2015, ISO 13485 and IPC-A-610 standards.
● Basic computer skills and experience with ERP/MRP systems (like Aegis) as well as Microsoft Office.

Salary Range
· $22 - $30.00 per hour
