Overview
We are seeking a skilled Rustproofing & Undercoating Technician to join our team. This role involves applying protective coatings to vehicle undercarriages to prevent rust and corrosion, ensuring the longevity and durability of our customers' vehicles. The ideal candidate will have experience applying rust proofing & undercoating products, some hands on experience working on vehicles and a strong work ethic.
Responsibilities
- Apply rustproofing and undercoating treatments to vehicle undercarriages using specialized equipment and techniques
- Prepare vehicles by cleaning and inspecting the underside before application
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and other equipment safely and effectively during the coating process
- Perform routine vehicle inspections to identify areas needing repair or additional protection
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency
- Follow all safety protocols and environmental regulations during application processes
- Assist with other maintenance tasks as needed to support team operations
Requirements
- Some mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive repair or rustproofing techniques
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely, including vehicle parts or equipment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, standing for extended periods and performing manual tasks
- Prior experience working with automotive coatings or rustproofing is a plus but not mandatory
- Must be reliable, safety-conscious, and able to follow detailed instructions for application procedures
Compensation for this position begins at $19.00 per hour, with opportunities for wage increases based on performance, skill development, and successful completion of the apprenticeship/training period. Work hours may vary depending on seasonal demand, scheduling requirements, workload, and operational needs. Candidates should be prepared for occasional extended shifts, overtime, or adjusted schedules during peak periods to ensure timely completion of customer services and shop operations. Flexibility, reliability, and a willingness to adapt to changing workflow demands are considered important aspects of this role.
