The Adams Lake Indian Band is looking for 2 fulltime seasonal Store Workers for the Sandy Point (SP) Store at Sandy Point Campgrounds. The SP Store Worker would be responsible for delivering a high standard of customer service and supports daily retail operations, including assisting customers, handling transactions through the POS system, and managing cash accurately. It also involves maintaining store cleanliness and organization, restocking supplies, and supporting inventory tasks such as stock rotation, expiry monitoring, and reporting low inventory.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with Adams Lake Indian Band policies and procedures.

Greet customers promptly and provide courteous, friendly service

Assist customers with locating products and responding to basic inquiries

Address customer concerns or complaints in a calm and respectful manner

Maintain a positive attitude, particularly during high-volume periods

Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately
-
Process cash, debit, and credit transactions in accordance with procedures
-
Provide accurate change and balance the cash register/till
-
Follow established policies for refunds, exchanges, and void transactions

Maintain cleanliness and organization of counters, floors, shelves, and service areas

Restock ice cream cooler stations and ensure availability of supplies (e.g., napkins)

Clean restrooms as required and adhere to sanitation standards

Empty garbage and recycling regularly

Restock shelves and coolers to ensure product availability
-
Rotate inventory using First In, First Out (FIFO) practices

Monitor product expiry dates and remove outdated items
-
Assist with receiving deliveries and conducting inventory counts

Report low, damaged, or missing stock to the supervisor

Other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS

Must have competent computer skills including excel, word, emails, troubleshooting booking system.

Certification in World Host program or similar customer service training preferred.

Able to maintain efficiency and composure in a fast-paced environment.

Experience as a Customer Service worker would be considered an asset.

Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance.

The majority of work is performed in a typical office environment.
Various shift patterns may be required (night shift, weekdays and weekends).

BONAFIDE OCCUPATIONAL REQUIRMENTS
Valid Driving License AND/OR Reliable transportation to and from the Sandy Point Campground Store
OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENTS (REQUIRED DOCUMENTS)
Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector with results acceptable to ALIB.
All workers under the age of 18 will be required to obtain consent from a legal guardian or parent to accept the position.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Full time term position, ending on or before October 18, 2026
On-Site – 2569 Campground Rd, Salmon Arm, BC and/or 2100 Sandy Point Rd, Salmon Arm, BC
Wage offered will be $20.00 per hour.
Hours: up to 75 hours biweekly (max 37.5 hrs./week)
