Availability Required: Fridays to Sundays, with occasional after-school hours on weekdays
Compensation: $18-$23/hour
Job Overview:
STEAMULATION Lab is seeking an enthusiastic and energetic STEM/STEAM Instructor who is passionate about working with children and delivering engaging hands-on learning experiences. The ideal candidate enjoys science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics and is confident in leading activities in classrooms, camps, workshops, birthday parties, schools, and community events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and instruct interactive STEM/STEAM workshops, classes, and activities for children of different age groups
- Lead hands-on science experiments, robotics, engineering, and creative building activities
- Run STEM birthday party activities and assist with special events
- Deliver programs both at STEAMULATION Lab and off-site at schools, camps, community centers, and community events
- Support PA Day camps, workshops, and seasonal programs
- Create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment for all participants
- Adapt activities based on age group, learning styles, and group needs
- Communicate professionally with parents, students, and team members
- Assist with setup, cleanup, and organization of program materials and supplies
- Assist in writing blogs and newsletters.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Background in STEM/STEAM, education, engineering, science, technology, or related fields (University students currently studying in these areas are welcome to apply)
- Experience working with children in educational, camp, tutoring, or recreational settings is an asset
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Energetic, creative, reliable, and comfortable leading group activities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- First Aid/CPR certification is an asset
- Vulnerable Sector Police (Required)
Working Conditions:
This is a flexible part-time position with hours varying based on workshops, camps, birthday parties, school programs, and community events. Most shifts take place Fridays through Sundays, with occasional weekday after-school hours. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on teaching, creativity, and inspiring children through STEM learning experiences.
Availability: Majority of the time Fridays -Sundays
Pay: $18.00-$23.00 per hour
