Design & Customer Experience Assistant
Part-Time | Saturdays + One Weekday | Cowichan Valley
About the Role
We’re looking for a Design & Customer Experience Assistant to support our team and help deliver the welcoming, inspiring experience our customers have come to expect.
This is a support role that touches many areas of our business. You’ll work alongside our sales and leadership team to help create an outstanding customer experience while supporting the daily operations of our showroom. No two days are exactly alike.

While this role begins as a flexible part-time position, we’re building for the future. As Style Sense Furniture continues to grow, there may be opportunities for increased hours and, for the right person, the opportunity to grow into a full-time Sales & Design Consultant role.
What You’ll Do
- Welcome customers and create a warm, professional first impression.
- Support the sales team with customer follow-up, quotes, and administrative tasks.
- Assist customers throughout their showroom visit.
- Help style and maintain a beautiful, inspiring showroom.
- Merchandise furniture, accessories, artwork, and seasonal displays.
- Assist with showroom resets, moving smaller furniture pieces, and hanging artwork.
- Support social media by helping create photos, videos, behind-the-scenes content, and showcasing new arrivals.
- Assist with marketing initiatives, promotions, community events, and special projects.
- Learn about furniture, comfort, design, space planning, and our Canadian-made product lines.
- Confidently use iPads, point-of-sale systems, and other digital tools.
- Be willing to jump in wherever needed to help the team succeed.

Physical Requirements
- This is an active showroom environment. You should be comfortable:
- Standing and walking for extended periods.
- Moving smaller furniture pieces and home décor items.
- Hanging artwork and assisting with displays.
- Lifting and carrying merchandise safely.
- Participating in showroom merchandising and seasonal floor changes.
Compensation & Benefits
$20–$25 per hour, based on experience, skills, and the value you bring to the role.
Schedule
This is a flexible part-time role that includes:
- Saturdays (required)
- One additional weekday each week (Tuesday or Friday)
- Opportunities for additional hours during holidays, vacation coverage, showroom projects, special events, and busy periods.
